After 12 years of community and staff input, and the steadfast efforts of Holliday Development, the Truckee Railyard delivers on the promise of “Redefining Mountain Living,” a project designed to prioritize the local economy, secure workforce housing, maximize mixed-use space and develop additional walkable/bikeable options. It has been a long time mission and focus for Holliday Development to meet environmental and community needs while enhancing and promoting Truckee’s vibrant, world-class destination offerings. Initial interest has been received from local perspective buyers as well as from second homeowners from the greater Bay Area and Sacramento regions.

The Truckee Railyard project encompasses a 75-acre development footprint extending east of downtown commercial row, north of the rail line to Reno and south of Glenshire Drive. The first phase includes 46 market rate residential units, 8 commercial units, a movie theater/performing art center combination, brew pub restaurant and space for Artist Lofts, a new affordable housing concept pioneered in Sacramento, to be built in Truckee by CFY Development. Submitted concurrently with the first phase is the plan for a Nugget Grocery Store within the “Balloon Track,” east of downtown. The project will maximize available land with efficient and environmentally-friendly building strategies, allowing the topography and natural landscape of the beloved backyard to be left untouched.
